“In wisdom gathered over time I have found that every

experience is a form of exploration.”–Ansel Adams

Let’s welcome the season of rain, blooming flowers and warmth.

Winter has quickly melted itself away, while the fluctuating sunny and gloomy days have made themselves present. However, there’s no way to get carried away by the sunlight that peers through the windows of our bedrooms because once you step outside… the windchill may take you by surprise. I don’t even know how many times I’ve been fooled by the sun’s subtle glow, then stepping outside in the thinnest layers possible. Regrets. I’ve learned over time to check the forecast in advance. Let’s just say, the weather app is a key tool in fashion.

What better way to take these fashion 101 mistakes and take Ansel Adam’s quote into consideration. I guess those risky times can be seen as the beginning of explorations. Adam’s quote is applicable to a lot of situations. Any experiences you’ve gone through, wisdom is gained and through that channels to explore become more accessible and prominent.

If you’re ever up for an adventure, Chicago is a beautiful city full of unexpected weather fluctuations, but one thing you can expect is to be immersed in its stunning scenery. Chicago’s weather is quite unpredictable. One advice is to wear or take extra layers of clothes in case your body sends signals that heat restoration is critical to surviving a shopping mission along the Magnificent Mile.

The day that I ventured out to the city in the clothes pictured below, boy was I lucky. The weather was warmer than expected and no winds were tossing themselves at me. I was able to stay particularly warm through this three layered outfit.

For the upper half of my outfit, I styled a thin creme turtle neck sweater and layered an olive checkered blazer with another oversized olive bomber jacket on top of it all. I guess, I really adore the color olive. When I took off the bomber jacket, it was a rather formal style and suitable for a chic, classy business look. When the oversized jacket was thrown on, the A-line silhouette that this coat gave outlined a casual, sporty image. The bottom portion of this styling was finalized with a figure grasping mid-length pencil skirt and stockings to be worn underneath (let’s not forget it’s still a bit too cold to show bare skin). From head to knees, a rather conservative and simple vibe was detailed. So, I wanted to add a bit of edginess towards the bottom half…which these navy oxford platform sneakers did themselves justice. To keep my toes snug and cozy I wore an extra layer of grey ankle socks to continuously portray a semi-casual look.
