Here in Chicago, or should I reference the term “Chiberia”, autumn winds are busting in to make an appearance all too soon.
Now that we’re at the end of August and quickly approaching September, summer will soon pass the baton to fall. I must say, whether it pertains to the changing of seasons or multiple alterations in life, most transitions are awkward. Nonetheless, they are exciting because they’re somewhat new, risky, and adventurous.
Seasonal transitions are quite enchanting, and to all fashionistas out there it’s absolutely magical. Am I right? Who doesn’t love putting away one set of clothes to pull out the ones that were tucked in the drawers for a few months awaiting its turn to be styled out and about. In one perspective, even the leaves on trees change their appearance to be in “trend” with fall, or rather they are the “trend” themselves.
Inspired by the beauty of leaves changing their outer clothes, I assembled an outfit that casted vibrant shades of warm orange, bold red, and fuchsia pink. To unite the colors without looking like a paint platter, I wore a simple, however, rather classic jean skirt. The light wash and natural fading of the skirt made the look more subtle, even though there were different accents of color given off by the highlighted pieces of the outfit.
To complete a perfect color combination altogether, the fuchsia pink loafers are a favorite of mine. Not only are loafers super comfy, they also make for a staple piece in your shoe collection for a chic “school girl/boy look.” Even for men, styling denim looks, such as denim on denim or jeans with plain button down shirts and a roll up of the sleeves, paired with royal blue/black/chestnut brown/or grey loafers can make your style more classy. Perhaps, make a transition from boat shoes to something more charismatic.
Lastly, I wanted to throw in a hint of a western point in the look and decided to tie a bandana onto one belt loop on the skirt. This is one way to add in this trendy accessory, but you could even wrap it around your wrist to be worn as a bracelet or around the neck as a neckpiece. Fashion really depends on the mood and how you’re really feeling that day, so give it a go! It’s never wrong to repeat outfits either…the challenge of wearing an outfit over again, but somewhat switching things up from the previous look is what makes fashion fun. Well, at least for me that is. I hope some of you would agree with that :). It’s also a talent itself!
I just started fall semester this week, and already have a mix of thoughts and feelings. I’m excited, tired, nervous, but overall, staying positive!
So here’s to this transition of season! Tis the season of fresh brisk air and pumpkin spiced everything.
Let’s all embrace the cold together as we let our outfits showcase vibrant warmth in replacement of our friend, Mr. Golden Sun.
Cheers,
Inha
