Snowless Snow Globe

“In the depth of winter I finally learned that there was in me an invincible summer.” –Albert Camus

Though Chicago was hit with a sudden snowstorm, there’s nothing surprising about it. Chicagoans are very aware and may have perfected how to survive freezing winter temperatures and how to dress in style for the frosty season like none other. But who am I kidding, I still grumble at the cold, chilly, crisp winds that make me tense and numb one step out the door.

In light of the perfectly lain snow on the ground, I recently turned on Michael Buble’s Christmas album and was glimpsing through quotes about winter. For me, I find such power in quotes. They’re sometimes rather simple or complex, however, just with one sentence or phrase it leaves so much impact that a specific quote can be associated with an individual, place and event.

With that, I found the quote above and was inspired to upload a quick photoshoot I had during the middle of Autumn. I admire all seasons because each of them incorporate their own sense of unique beauty, though the warmer temperatures are personally preferred. I never got around to uploading more outfit posts for the fall, and wasn’t able to upload this styling either. However, I know there’s readers that come across this page from different parts of the world and that inspired me to upload this anyway because for you, you might still be basking in the sun somewhere!

Looking put together in an effortless way (honestly without effort) has always been essential for me. On top I wore a black tank top with the upper v-lined portion embroidered with lace. Then I layered a thin light weight motor jacket over it. The jacket is detailed with loose fringed hems at the fabric’s edges. Jeans are a go to staple in the wardrobe, especially these slightly ripped denim pair with the bottoms folded emphasizes a casual appearance. To complete the look, I wore a pair of the trending pointed lace-up flats. The motor jacket and studded flats give the outfit an overall girly, yet chic image.

So here it is. Thank you to all the readers that inspire and encourage me to keep posting new content. With Thanksgiving only two days away, I  realize how blessed I am as I continue to reminisce. With all the love and blessing people I am surrounded by, my heart feels so warmed. Thus, I firmly believe that in me there’s an invincible summer.

I earnestly hope that even though it may not be Thanksgiving wherever you are in this world, everyone can continue to be thankful daily. There can be much good found around you if you look towards the optimism that may be subdued by temporary darkness.
